yet another turd floating on the pool of animation. its just a little something i did today just to keep my mind ticking over (although its making an odd clanging noise) because i need to get other stuff in order to make some of my other ideas.... which are coming soon. watch this space
(space for watching)
sleep tight (i dont get it. what happens when you sleep loose?)
yoyo folk(music)s here's the latest issue from the factory of the weird, a lickle cut out animation fresh off the press this morning (its still warm!) ive made the image size smaller so it should work better than previous ones. i like it because of the style i used but what do YOU think? thats right i want some opinions so commenty commenty earthlings!
what up gringos and gringorinoes? this here is a collaboration with just andrew on the fantastic animation "hey gringo!" the credits run as follows:
original idea and all cast members: andrew (he stuck a moustache on the bucket and it was downhill from there) camera, direction and editing: teenage mutant ninja nerd (me!)
piece out and keep chillin like villians

here's a wee animation just using me and a bit of paper called "how i come up with ideas". i actually made it yesterday but because the network screwed up i didnt get it saved so here it is. ive posted it small so hopefully it'll play better. anyhow enjoy yourselfs laughing at me
yours pissed of at the nature of library overdue fines:
ok this is a sensation. i have never, ever missed a friday event yet it is 11:14 and im typing this. why? i got so caught up animating i didnt notice the time untill a moment ago. but i think i should be excused as this is too cool for school fool! this is my first ever stop motion animation! its called dinosaur vs blobman and took me about 5 minutes to think up and around an hour to make last night. it's inspired by the work of simpo (thanks paul) whose dvd's from the library you should all watch (except i've got them till monday so stop the stampede) its a bit guff in places but considering i did it using a folding desk, paper, pen, plastercine and a toy dinosaur i found the other day id say its ok. there should be more of these to come, possibly later on today so keep watchin'!
heyho folks this is what i have spent the afternoon doing, a sort of jan svankmajer inspired stop gap animation type thing. except the gaps are more noticable and i used a street over which i have no control. just click on it to get it moving and tell me what you think. i am going to be using this (maybe not this version but certainly this technique) to make my final animation. heres a walkthrough of what itr might look like. line moves across the screen and then builds into a drawing of a cityscape bits of photos appear on it and build into a full photograph then the photo animates like the setup here and travels down sauchiehall street finally stopping outside the concert hall where it breaks down into a line drawing finally becoming a flat line once again. sound good? let me know what opinion is
hey i know its only been two minutes since the last post but i found some more videos that i think are worth having a shufti at
this one is by jan svankmajer and is called meat love. i first saw stills from it in a low-end comic book somewhere and when i found it i was well chuffed. the way the animation works is simply amazing, well worth a look
another jan svankmajer dimensions of dialogue part 2. when you think about how much effort went into doing this it really is amazing and i like the jerky style you get at times
dimensions of dialogue part 1 this is best watched on full screen mode but shows how everyday objects can be animated
ok folks and folkettes this really was a wasted day i got nothing done. i spent my entire time looking for artist/animators with some degree of success but couldnt get any good films to link to here (i'll try tomorrow) it was one of those days where you spend all the time working but have nothing physical to show. so anyway that brings me to the little piece of animation sitting at the left here which is something i did to cheer myself up (har har.) its a bit sick but so am i at times. it reminds me of a icelandic cartoonist who ill try to remember the name of so you can all read his book which is really evil. anyway ill be back to doing arty stuff tomorrow (i hope) but ive run out of time and have to go to work soon. please direct letter bombs and hate mail regarding my animation to the creator of mr blobby as he deserves it more than me... making fun of an acne sufferer with mental difficulties. peace love and santa pie

ok peoploids this is the latest animation draft from lil ol me. i had to redo every single frame (theres now forty of them) in order to add what i wanted which was really stupid as i figured out not a moment ago that i could easily have added more on the last one had i the sense i was born with... but i pawned that years ago for a larf so ill just need to remember it in the future. i have also realised that this is getting assessed and that im a tad less serious in my documentation style than everyone else but unfortunately thats the way iam so sod it. anyhow if anyone has trouble figuring out why this thing aint moving just click on it and it should work. the frame gaps are still a bit too quick but ill sort that in the final piece. anyway i hope you like it
ok people this is, shocking i know, the second blog today. dont worry im not hooked i just wanted to show what ive been up to (although i still dont know if the animation *the thing on the right* will work.) i tried adding a very funny david shrigley animation but it didnt work so ill just put a link to his animation page on his site. i havent viewed all of them but the ones i have are soo-poib *superbe* especially the bonny prince billy one with some nice country and western sounds and axe man on the mudam website comission.
piece n jam
p.s. the thing on the left is a frame by frame break down of the animation on the right.
well here it is! i know the world has been salivating to see this! an original mapping out of ideas in a sketchbook by me the ninja nerd!! i know its difficult to read in places but you can come to me if you want to see the original. no prizes, by the way, for guessing who the tutor refered to is. (and to that tutor, i am deeply sorry but you were an integral part of my story and not a git in any way *except for that id been thinking all weekend how to do this animation* but even then not really) anyway as the cartoon says the man had a point! and so i will start work after lunch (honest) and first drafts of this animation should be on here at some point. maybe. i hope. peace love and pop punk
its ok. please stop the mad rush to give me ideas. no seriously. im sorted. im going to make an animation using the line i created last term which slowly morphs into a drawing of sauchiehall street then wonderful little bits of photo creep in and build up to a photo collage/drawing. and you'll never guess where im displaying it....... ha! you dont get to know yet, it would spoil the (possible) surprise. by the way if have told you please dont tell everyone as it would be nasty and spoil the surprise for them and i might cry. anyhow all this will only happen if i get off my ass and start working instead of drinking coffee all day... too hot for that now anyhow
haha! my first blog! i never thought id see the day seeing as how i thought all people who blog were sados (sorry paul) anyhoo nothing much to say for the now... cept if anyone has an idea for what to research for my new project then help me out. spank you.
